Taken from Peterborough This Week: Mike Lacey
Theresa Moloney wants to change lives, change perceptions and change the notion that weightlifting simply serves to make women look masculine.
The busy Peterborough resident is accomplishing her mission through many avenues. She is a mother, a female bodybuilder and a Canadian Fitness champion for an all natural bodybuilding organization. Her abilities in body-building led her to capturing the Canadian female title in 2003 and 2004 before focusing on the fitness division in 2005. The latter category puts emphasis on the symetry of the body.
She's now using her talents to help others as she works as a personal trainer, making use of a private home gym. Her training business works with a wide range of individuals, from athletes training for a competition or recovering from injury, to those who simply want to improve how they look.
She says the most rewarding part about her work is the difference it makes in her clients' lives.
